Dans Satam mid summer Hafla


Well, Saturday 20 June was the nearest Saturday night to the summer solstice so in keeping with their tradition, Dans Satam held their ever popular mid summer hafla at their superb home of Winterton football club.  It really is a lovely venue and the staff were great at keeping the queues to the bar down - because as we all know, dancing is thirsty work!

There were, as always, some great performances and for me the highlights of the night were Daniella’s solo - she really mastered those pops and locks - and Pauline Qu who really got down to some serious dark side music, which in itself was quite unusual and visually challenging.

Nice to see an appreciative audience and Dans Satam never fail to impress with their audience members as again local MP Ian Cawsey, a resident of Winterton, turned up just in time to see his personal favourite Siobhan take to the stage. Who says you can’t generate a fan club? Siobhan clearly has and not just Mr Cawsey, but the whole room and deservedly so.

These events are never as seamless as they appear and Dans Satam are to be congratulated on putting on another excellent hafla.  It’ll be a similar date next year so pop it in your diary now, just look for the nearest Saturday to the solstice.
