Baladi technique and choreography. A straightforward, highly authentic and utterly delightful grounded dance to a charming song. Designed as a group dance with discussion of some optional extra floor patterns, or perfect for a modest solo.

The emphasis will be on support and encouragement in a friendly and yet highly focussed atmosphere.

E-motion, Dancing authentically
7:30pm-9pm - int/adv level
E-motion means Energy in motion, dancing authentically means being your true self when you dance. In this course you will explore expressing emotion in your dance and showing different moods, characters and creating the 'feel' you wish to convey. This is key to giving your dance extra depth, enhancing your own experience as well as that of your audience.

Please note this class will involve performing in front of others.

After sell out trips to Ireland and York, this year our summer residential is in the small historic town of Knutsford in the North of England. It's an easy place to get to (10 minutes from Manchester airport, direct rail links and close to motorways).

The dance programme is as follows:

SATURDAY 31 July - Saidi and ghawazee - 12-5pm (4 hours dancing)
SUNDAY 1 August - Baladi (part of the Mazazik Training and Performance Project. Warm up with Helena, workshop with Jane, Guy Schalom and legendary Egyptian master accordionist Sheikh Taha, followed by a "Baladi Afternoon Tea" with dance performances from Jane and Helena and your chance to dance with the musicians. 12-6pm
MONDAY 2 August - Classical

You can book for the full weekend or individual days. And we can supply you with a list of suggested accommodation.

In your spare time you can ...
* go shopping - lots of antiques, gift shops, clothes shops
* have a walk in Tatton Park, visit the Mansion and Gardens, have afternoon tea in the cafe

If you have never visited a Souk (shopping area) feel free to come along and wander. Visit our Souks for a chance to buy belly dancing goods ranging from CDs to accessories to add some ‘bling’ to your costumes, hipbelts, jewellery and full costumes.

An Evening showcase performance with Midlands based teachers & dancers and our international stars displaying their spectacular talents.
