Connie's Big Birthday Hafla (and workshop with Katie Holland)
AT Lincoln Christ's Hospital School main hall , Wragby Rd, Lincoln LN2 4PN.
This is a great venue with a full sized stage -
No presents, bring a dish for the pot-luck buffet if you can. Free entry by ticket (we have to control numbers) but donations accepted towards costs and all profits will go to Samaritan's Purse - International relief. Email markahurd@gmail.com to reserve your place
With guest stars KATIE HOLLAND, JANET ROSE, SANDRA THOMPSON, SADDAQAH, DEMOLITIA, the Andrasté Drummers and many more. Lots of boogie time and a Zumba session by Sandra. Demolitia will be bringing her souk and so will Katie Holland. We saw Katie’s souk at JoY and she has some really good and unusual stuff, a lot of it sourced from her home in India and suitable for Belly, Bolly or Tribal.
Note that we are delighted to announce that Katie Holland (http://www.katie-holland.net) has also agreed to lead an afternoon workshop on the day of the hafla.
before the hafla, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm, there will be a 2 hour workshop by KATIE HOLLAND teaching a choreo that combines classical Indian, belly and Bollywood. If you don’t know Katie Holland, she’s a fantastic international teacher specialising in Indian/Bollywood dance and fusion. She taught and performed at Jewel of Yorkshire in April this year and she lives and works in Goa (India) most of the year. This is a rare opportunity in Lincoln to have an international dancer of Katie’s calibre come to the county. Workshop cost will be £15 and payment can be made by cheque or by Paypal.
